Shyronie Davis - Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

Working with children, young people, adults, and families.

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, meaning my work is grounded in an understanding of how early experiences, unconscious processes, and relational patterns shape emotional life and behaviour.

Therapy offers a space to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences that may feel confusing, overwhelming, or difficult to articulate. Together, we pay attention to what emerges in the therapeutic relationship, as this often reflects wider relational dynamics.

I work in a way that is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and relational, recognising the impact of identity, race, family systems, and social context on emotional wellbeing.

Who I Work With

I offer therapy to:

• Children and young people

• Adults

• Families

I work with individuals experiencing:

• Trauma and complex trauma

• Emotional regulation and anger

• Anxiety, low mood, and emotional overwhelm

• Attachment and relational difficulties

• Identity development and self-worth

• Racial identity and intergenerational trauma

• Neurodivergence-informed therapeutic work

• Experiences related to the criminal justice system

Alongside private one-to-one therapy, I design and facilitate therapeutic groups within prisons, schools, and community settings.

My group work integrates psychodynamic thinking, trauma-informed practice, reflective discussion, and emotional regulation tools. Groups provide a contained space for shared exploration, emotional literacy, and meaning-making within a supportive environment.

I am the founder of Rooted Wisdom CIC, through which I deliver structured therapeutic and psycho-educational programmes for young people, families, and professionals.

Professional Standards

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework.

I hold an Enhanced DBS for both children and adults, registered under Rooted Wisdom, and my practice is supported by regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.

The Therapy Space

Sessions take place in a calm, private, and reflective environment designed to support emotional safety and exploration.

The space is intentionally non-clinical, offering a contained setting where individuals can speak openly and explore their experiences at a manageable pace.

I believe therapy is not about fixing people, but about understanding, containment, and creating space for change.

When individuals feel emotionally held and genuinely seen, they are better able to develop insight, resilience, and self-compassion.
